The International Sports Film Festival «KRASNOGORSKI» began accepting works for participation in the competition program in October 2023. Authors of films and animated sports-themed works created no earlier than two years before the festival (2021-2023) are invited. Works in six categories are accepted: feature films, documentaries, television films, short films, animated films, series. Acceptance of works takes place until September 20, 2023 inclusive. Participation in the competition is free, to participate, you must fill out an application on the website of the film festival www.sportfilmsfest.org/main-eng .
The events of the XXI INTERNATIONAL SPORTS FILM FESTIVAL «KRASNOGORSKI» will be held at the end of October 2023. Viewers will be able to watch festival films for free in cinemas and at other venues in Moscow and the Moscow region. Participants and guests are also waiting for author’s presentations and master classes, meetings with legends of sports and cinema.
The International Sports Film Festival has been held annually since 2003 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Sports of Russia, the Russian Olympic Committee. The president of the film festival is the legendary figure skater, three–time Olympic champion, public and political figure, State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina. The filmography of all issues of the International Film Festival consists of over two thousand feature and documentary films from more than 60 countries and almost all Russian regions. The guests of the Film Forum were cinematographers from 28 countries, heads of similar foreign festivals. Among them are Willy Bogner (Germany), Stephen Evans (Great Britain), Vito De Maggio (Italy), Ken Scott (Canada), Beno Hvala (Slovenia), Mark Mahon (USA), Aviv Giladi (USA), Sean Sisterna (Canada), Yuriko Romer (Japan) and many others.
The festival was awarded the Silver Medal of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Italy Silvio Berlusconi as the best sports film forum in Europe, prizes of international film festivals in Austria, Italy, Slovenia. The winning films of the Festival were shown non-stop at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver in 2010 and as part of the Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad.
